Syston Scout & Guide Band

10th Leicester (Syston) Scout & Guide Band meet on Wednesdays from 7pm to 9pm at Syston Scout Hall. The band welcome all Brownies, Cubs, Guides, Scouts,Rangers, Explorers & members of the Scout Network – No experience necessary.

Between us, we play drums (bass, tenor and snare), Cymbals, Fifes (similar to the flute), Bugles and Bell Lyres (portable variation of the Glockenspiel). We offer all of our members tuition and support in learning the instruments of choice.

Alongside weekly practice, the group perform and compete in numerous events throughout the year, ranging from St. George’s Day parades to the TYMBA National Championships.

When not practicing for their next display, Syston Scout & Guide Band also organise an annual variety show. ‘Stick and Tones’ offers members the chance to take part in songs and sketches. A couple of months of comedic rehearsals is good fun for all members and helps us unwind before the next competition season.
